Application Deadline

Applications for this meeting must be submitted by July 8, 2018. Please apply early, as some meetings become oversubscribed (full) before this deadline. If the meeting is oversubscribed, it will be stated here. Note: Applications for oversubscribed meetings will only be considered by the Conference Chair if more seats become available due to cancellations.

Meeting Description

Plasmas are used in a huge range of established and emerging applications in the areas of energy, advanced materials, human health and environmental sustainability. Understanding the physical, chemical and biochemical mechanisms underlying the properties of the plasma and its interactions with materials is critical in optimizing existing applications and developing new ones. The 2018 Gordon Research Conference on Plasma Processing will highlight the scientific advances at the cutting edge of plasma processing science, and discuss new emerging topics and trends, with a focus on the mechanisms that contribute to the existing and future application of plasmas.

The conference will bring together leaders in the field with junior investigators and graduate students. In addition to the invited presentations, a late-breaking topics session with selected contributions from attendees will be included in the program. The associated Gordon Research Seminar also provides an exciting venue for the junior researchers to present and discuss their research. The special format of the Gordon Conferences, with programmed discussion sessions and ample time for informal gatherings in the afternoons and evenings, will provide for a fertile atmosphere of brainstorming and creative thinking among the attendees.

Related Meeting

This GRC will be held in conjunction with the "Plasma Processing Science" Gordon Research Seminar (GRS). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRS in addition to an application for the GRC. Refer to the associated GRS program page for more information.
