Application Deadline

Applications for this meeting must be submitted by February 11, 2018. Please apply early, as some meetings become oversubscribed (full) before this deadline. If the meeting is oversubscribed, it will be stated here. Note: Applications for oversubscribed meetings will only be considered by the Conference Chair if more seats become available due to cancellations.

Meeting Description

The 2018 Lymphatics Gordon Research Conference (GRC) will present state-of the-art research on the lymphatic vascular system. The meeting will bring together leaders in various scientific disciplines converging on lymphatics as one common theme. Sessions will cover conceptual advances in formation, maintenance, regeneration and disease of lymphatic vessels from basic and fundamental aspects to potential clinical application. New factors for regulating lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic integrity will be introduced. Advances in research of lymphatic malformations, primary and secondary lymphedema and other congenital lymphatic diseases will be discussed. Paradigm shifts in the field will be presented including the discovery of unique metabolic requirements of lymphatic endothelial cells and the role of brain lymphatics in neurodegenerative disease. Innovative research on the crosstalk between lymphatics and the immune system will be discussed. Meeting will in particular highlight unique features and functions of lymphatics in different organ systems. Advances in understanding how lymphatics contribute to disease, including inflammation, autoimmune disease, cardiovascular, cancer and others will be addressed. The meeting is designed to advance and integrate knowledge not only of lymphatic vascular biology and pathology, but also to integrate and stimulate interdisciplinary research. The conference is organized to stimulate interactions among basic scientists, clinicians, senior and junior investigators, funding agencies, journal editors and industry, as well as to provide an educational opportunity for graduate students, post-doctoral and clinical fellows.

Related Meeting

This GRC will be held in conjunction with the "Lymphatics" Gordon Research Seminar (GRS). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRS in addition to an application for the GRC. Refer to the associated GRS program page for more information.
