Application Deadline

Applications for this meeting must be submitted by May 20, 2018. Please apply early, as some meetings become oversubscribed (full) before this deadline. Note: Applications for oversubscribed meetings will only be considered by the Conference Chair if more seats become available due to cancellations.

Meeting Description

The theme for the third GRC on Image Science is understanding the process of converting image data into knowledge discovery. Speakers from a broad range of disciplines will describe their most challenging imaging problems and newest solutions to inspire innovation in the science of imaging. A unique feature of this conference is the focus on seeking common approaches to image formation, display, and decision making challenges that emerge from diverse applications.

The organizing team includes co-chairs Michael Insana (medical imaging) and Rafael Piestun (optics and computational imaging) and past chair Richard Paxman (adaptive optics, phase retrieval). This team has assembled a program of skilled speakers who are world experts in their fields and who agreed to describe unpublished research of broad interest and relevance. All attendees are invited to submit abstracts on their work to be presented in several sessions attended by all during the 5-day conference. Generous financial support will be provided to qualified attendees to provide opportunities for young investigators and students and to encourage a diverse audience of image scientists.

Related Meeting

This GRC will be held in conjunction with the "Image Science" Gordon Research Seminar (GRS). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRS in addition to an application for the GRC. Refer to the associated GRS program page for more information.
