Meeting Description

Overview

The Gordon Research Seminar on Basal Ganglia will provide a unique platform for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to connect and share new, unpublished data and provocative ideas. This seminar is meant to provide a low-pressure environment for pre- and post-doctoral investigators to facilitate a rigorous discussion of the anatomy, physiology, pathology, and theory of basal ganglia. This meeting will additionally provide a career development session, with lively panelists from academia, scientific publishing, biomedical industry and a funding agency.

The meeting will feature 10-12 trainee talks and 2 poster sessions. GRS applicants should submit an abstract, and are expected to participate either by giving an oral presentation or poster presentation. The Chairs will select speakers from submitted abstracts based on novelty of research, quality of data, and clarity of the abstract.

Application Instructions

The meeting will feature approximately 10 talks and 2 poster sessions. All attendees are expected to actively participate in the GRS either by giving an oral presentation or presenting a poster. Therefore, all applications must include an abstract.

The Chairs will select speakers from abstracts submitted by December 10, 2017. Those applicants who are not chosen for talks and those who apply after the deadline to be considered for an oral presentation will be expected to present a poster. In order to participate, you must submit an application by the date indicated in the Application Deadline section above.
