Proposing a New Gordon Research Conference

Proposing a New Gordon Research Conference

Gordon Research Conferences welcomes your proposals for a new GRC in vital, emerging areas of science.  The proposal topic should be cutting edge and in an area of fundamental research and technology that would benefit from an ongoing, week-long conference with extensive discussion.  Gordon Research Conferences have a long record of stimulating advanced research in industrial laboratories, colleges and universities, research institutes, and government laboratories.

Scientifically-qualified individuals can submit a proposal at any time and submissions are reviewed annually on June 1st.  The GRC Conference Evaluation Committee (CEC) meets each fall to review current GRCs and to evaluate proposals for new conferences.  Selected proposals are recommended to the GRC Board of Trustees.  After proposals are approved, the proposed conference chairs are responsible for the selection of the subject matter, speakers, and other participants, and for the development and execution of the conference.

Your conference proposal should focus on emerging science.  New proposals that may cover policy are expected to primarily focus on the cutting edge aspects of the scientific research driving policy and not on issues beyond the science. To begin submission of a proposal, or for answers to questions about initiating a new GRC, please contact Lexi Bullen by email at lbullen@grc.org.
