About the Site
University of New England is located on a beautiful, remote site in Biddeford, Maine, where the Saco River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The Campus of UNE is on the coast of Maine, 20 miles south of Portland and 90 miles north of Boston.

Arrival and Check-In
It is anticipated that attendees will arrive/check-in on Sunday between 2:00 pm & 6:00 pm. Anyone arriving after the GRC office closes at 9:00 pm on Sunday, should call the Conference Services On-Duty phone at 207-468-4075 to be let into accommodations. Please dial 8-468-4075 from on-campus phones. The GRC Office will re-open Monday at 8:00 am.
The Meeting Room and Poster Area
Science Sessions are held in the air-conditioned Leonard Hall.
Poster Sessions and Socials are held either in the Campus Center or the Harold Alfond Center for Health Sciences.
On-Site Housing and Facilities
GRC participants are housed in residence halls which contain suite-style accommodations and full sized beds. The halls are air-conditioned. Each suite features four single bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area, and a kitchenette. Linens, towels, and a complimentary toiletry package including soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided in each room. Light housekeeping services will be provided midweek in all suite common spaces.
Dining Area and Meals
All meals are served in the air-conditioned Decary Dining Hall.
Vegetarian entrees and gluten friendly meals are available at all meals. Other dietary restrictions or concerns can be accommodated if advanced notice is provided.

Internet, Phone and Computer Access
Wireless high-speed internet access is available in all suites and common spaces in the residence halls. Internet can also be accessed via Ethernet cable. A limited number of Ethernet cords are available for rental during registration on Sunday and in the Activities Office located on the 2nd floor of East Hall, open Monday - Thursday 12pm-5pm. Wireless internet access is also available in the lecture hall meeting room and in select areas of the dining hall and poster session spaces.
The site is fully handicapped accessible.
The site has a full service Campus Center which includes an indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, indoor jogging track, saunas, racquetball court, volleyball court, basketball courts and full service weight room for your convenience while on campus. Use of the fitness facilities on-site are available by signing a usage waiver at the front desk in the Campus Center building.
The UNE activities office, located on the 2nd floor of East Residence Hall, is open Monday-Thursday 12pm-5pm to assist conference guests in coordinating both on and off campus activities. From cornhole games to pick up soccer matches coordinated on campus, to an organized off-campus excursion, our goal is to ensure your free time allows you to experience all that Maine and UNE has to offer.
Animals are not permitted on site.
The University of New England is a tobacco and smoke-free campus. Smoking of tobacco or other substances and use of all tobacco products including non-FDA approved nicotine delivery devices, such as electronic cigarettes will not be permitted anywhere and anytime on the University campuses. Thank you for your cooperation.
The University of New England offers recreation opportunities and information regarding area attractions as well as afternoon excursions through their activities office, located on the 2nd floor of East Hall. The Activities Office is open from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Toiletries, ironing boards/irons, hair dryers and sporting equipment (including bike rentals) are made available for sale/rent daily.
