Conference Description
The Alcohol-Induced End Organ Diseases GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
Why do only a subset of people with alcohol-use disorder (AUD) develop organ injury? This seminar is designed to investigate the genetic and environmental factors and comorbidities that modulate the risk of developing ethanol-induced organ injury. We will explore how variables such as sex, environmental toxicants, diet, etc. affect different mechanisms of ethanol-induced organ injury.
