Identifying the Next 20 years of Need in In Vivo MR

Magnetic Resonance imaging and spectroscopy in living systems (in vivo) is a key tool in biomedical discovery and clinical management. This meeting provides a unique, intellectual property protected, forum to learn about the newest developments in in vivo magnetic resonance. The 2022 meeting is the rescheduled 2020 meeting. It represents a positive, forward looking milestone, the 20th anniversary of the In Vivo Magnetic Resonance GRC. In recognition, we will include stimulating discussions aimed at identifying the technology development and application needs of the next 20 years. Presentations will include new unpublished highlights in a range of fields of MR, led by leaders in their fields. MR technologies to be discussed include the full spectrum needed to undertake state of the art MR experiments including gradients, magnets, RF technologies, MR sequences and data post-processing. Increased signal/noise, and development of new acquisition and processing protocols is making MR more sensitive to specific biochemical, physiological and disease phenotypes. As advances in technology go hand in hand with new and novel applications, we will also discuss new and novel applications. Most are medical. This year we include developments for space medicine and veterinary applications. A strength of this conference is that it brings together researchers in multiple disciplines that are needed for MR development and application. A second strength is that this meeting encourages trainee involvement in discussions and provides excellent opportunities for networking. In addition to the trainee opportunities at the GRC, there is an associated Gordon Research Seminar (GRS), organized and led by trainees, over the preceding two days.
