New Lipid and Lipoprotein Genes, Pathways and Therapies

The 2022 Lipoprotein Metabolism Gordon Research Conference (GRC) will be held at Waterville Valley Conference Center, NH on June 5- 10, 2022. This interdisciplinary meeting will include not only the latest findings on the role of lipoprotein metabolism in cardiovascular disease, as in previous GRCs on this topic, but also how the field of lipoprotein research forwarding towards identifying new genes, new targets and new therapies. Thus, it will provide an opportunity for researchers to apprise themselves with novel developments and insights in the field of lipoprotein metabolism. The co-chairs, Drs. Mahmood Hussain and Kiran Musunuru, in consultation with vice chairs (Drs. Daisy Sahoo and Marlys Kochinsky), and field leaders, have planned nine oral sessions to promote dialogue among established and emerging leaders in cardiovascular disease and lipoprotein metabolism. The keynote presentation will be on genetics of lipoprotein metabolism and coronary artery disease. Several short talks are arranged in different sessions: The lipoprotein lipase pathway, therapeutic approaches to modulate plasma lipids and lipoproteins, noncoding RNAs in lipoprotein metabolism, lipid metabolism in adipose tissue, the post-genomic era in lipoprotein metabolism, permanent modification of lipid levels, lipoproteins, cutting-edge technologies for lipids and lipoprotein research. The GRC will be preceded by the Lipoprotein Metabolism GRS, an international forum for presentation and discussion of frontier research by graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
