The Gordon Research Seminar on Lipoprotein Metabolism is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

Advances in the field of lipoprotein metabolism have been accelerated by fruitful collaborations among scientists in varied fields of endeavor. Cutting edge scientific tools have provided novel insight into lipoprotein particle composition, heterogeneity and dynamics. Effective and broad dissemination of new scientific knowledge provides a boost to ongoing efforts to translate discoveries into treatments for cardiovascular disease. The 2012 Lipoprotein Metabolism Gordon Research Seminar will provide young investigators in the field of cardiovascular research a stimulating, non-intimidating environment to discuss science with peers and develop future collaborations. The meeting will feature presentations of unpublished research by dynamic young students and post docs. Furthermore, Drs. Sean Davidson and Daisy Sahoo, two young successful faculty members, will serve as Mentors for the Seminar. Both Mentors will be present during research presentations as well as for informal interaction. It is envisioned that GRS participants will also gain insight into the various challenges and rewards of a career in biomedical research.
