Conference Description
The GRS on Lymphatics is set out to create a unique atmosphere for graduate students, post-docs, or other scientists with similar levels of experience and education to facilitate the scientific dialogue. Young scientists present their novel, unpublished data, exchange cutting-edge ideas, and are enabled to ask abundant questions in a supportive environment.
The 2018 Lymphatics GRS will be organized in collaboration with organization committee Sinem Karaman and Kaska Koltowska to ensure expertise spanning across different aspects of lymphatic research and creating a strong team promising to deliver an exciting and fruitful meeting. This meeting will focus on new advances in the formation and function of the lymphatic system in health and disease. We will cover the themes of organotypic origins of lymphatic endothelial cells, differences and similarities in formation and maintenance of lymphatic vascular beds and the role of lymphatic vasculature in physiological and pathophysiological processes in metabolism, immunity, cancer, and lymphatic diseases such as lymphedema. The program will be opened by a keynote lecture of leading scientist in the field who is chosen for their contribution to the field as well as their dedication to act as a mentor to discuss and give expert advice throughout the entire GRS and GRC will be opening the program. The GRS will be concluded with a methodology session, where novel and state-of-the-art methods will be introduced and the participants can exchange practical tips and tricks from their everyday laboratory work.
The small and more intimate setting of the GRS will help young researchers to network, discuss ideas, and nourish the lymphatic community of the future.
