Mechanisms and Regulation of Gametogenesis Through Meiosis

The Gordon Research Seminar on Meiosis is a forum that provides unique opportunities for graduate students, post-docs, and young faculty to discuss cutting-edge meiosis-related research and ideas in an intimate, friendly setting.

The primary focus of this meeting is to explore the mechanisms by which diploid cells give rise to unique haploid gametes during the specialized cellular division called meiosis. The research presented throughout this seminar will encompass multiple aspects of meiosis through the use of various model organisms and novel experimental techniques, with special emphasis on mechanisms pertaining to meiotic chromosome structures, meiotic DNA repair through homologous recombination, and cell cycle regulation.
