Coming of Age: Exploring the Development and Function of Myelin Through Time and Space

The Gordon Research Seminar on Myelin gathers individuals from around the world training to become the next generation of scientists and clinicians dedicated to the study of myelin biology and pathophysiology. The focus of the 2018 Myelin GRS is to highlight the various dimensions through which the study of myelin has "come of age". Progress in understanding the dynamics of myelin development as well as adult remodeling and adaptation has benefited from pioneering technologies that increasingly allow one to visualize the physical structure of myelin with unprecedented resolution and clarity. Exciting progress in the basic science of myelin has opened new possibilities for understanding and treating both acquired and inherited disorders of white matter.

In keeping with the rich history of the Myelin GRS/GRC, we anticipate a highly-interactive and engaging meeting of scientific talks and poster presentations. Though the GRS is designed for junior scientists, it is carefully and deliberately guided by influential leaders in the field who seek to pass on the Myelin Gordon tradition of vibrant, collaborative, and impactful myelin research.
