Conference Description

The Gordon Research Seminar on NOX Family NADPH Oxidases "From NOX mechanisms to disease" is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

The focus of this meeting is to discuss the cutting edge discovery of NOX isoform signalling and their selective role in a wide range of physiological and patho-physiological conditions. A stronger understanding of the contribution of NOX isoforms to disease will enhance translational research and the development of new treatments. Topics of interest include, but will not be limited to, the understanding of NOX isoform biochemistry, physiology and regulation as well as their selective roles in physiological versus pathological signalling using relevant animal models, human studies and therapeutic development. The program will include scientific sessions, poster sessions, and a mentorship / career development session. We invite all graduate students, post-docs and M.D. fellows doing research in these broad areas to submit an abstract for a poster or oral presentation.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "NOX Family NADPH Oxidases" Gordon Research Conference (GRC). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRC in addition to an application for the GRS. Refer to the associated GRC program page for more information.
