The Physical Virology GRC covers viruses as paradigms for nanoscale assembly, transformation, and the properties of protein cages on that size scale as well as their applications. The principles underlying virus-inspired systems organization have been investigated by mathematicians, physicists, chemists, material scientists, and biologists. This diversity is a strength because of the breadth of perspectives but poses challenges because of the poor communication between disciplines. The field is changing at a pace that will be hard to maintain unless we find a common ground. The goal of this conference is to bring together, the physical, biological, and materials perspectives that are rapidly shaping the field of viruses as physical functional systems.

It is planned to include a few contributed talks which will be selected from the poster submissions of registered participants. To be considered for one of these talks, please be sure to apply and submit an abstract before November 15, 2010. Please check back periodically for additional information.
