Conference Description
The Plant-Herbivore Interaction GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
In a world of complex cues, herbivores must decipher a wealth of sensory information to determine resource and habitat suitability. All the while, plants are responding to a myriad of stimuli in their environment, including microbes, abiotic stressors, and the cries of neighboring plants. This seminar welcomes contributions on the recent advances in plant-herbivore interactions with a special focus on the field of sensory ecology. From individual receptors to the signals that drive mass migrations, this seminar will discuss the diverse sensory phenomena that sculpt plant-herbivore interactions. Moreover, the GRS 2025 will offer a unique mentoring panel where attendees will be able to hear experiences and discuss the professional journeys of early career scientists in academia, the private sector, and science communication.
DEADLINE EXTENDED: For those interested in providing an oral presentation, the abstract deadline has been extended to Monday, December 2, 2024.
Application Instructions
The seminar will feature approximately 10 talks and 2 poster sessions. All attendees are expected to actively participate in the GRS, either by giving an oral presentation or presenting a poster. Therefore, all applications must include an abstract.
The seminar chair will select speakers from abstracts submitted by November 3, 2024. Those applicants who are not chosen for talks and those who apply after the deadline to be considered for an oral presentation will be expected to present a poster. In order to participate, you must submit an application by the date indicated in the Application Information section above.
