Conference Description
The Polyamines GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
Marking 50 years since the inception of the first GRC on polyamines in 1975, our upcoming 2025 event will uphold the legacy of pioneering research presentations and foster vibrant intellectual exchange. The 2025 conference will focus on recent advances in biomedical research that sheds light on the multifaceted roles of polyamines in orchestrating cellular processes vital for human health and disease. Specifically, the conference will delve into polyamine transport and metabolism across a spectrum of diseases, including cancer, genetic and neurological disorders, and infectious diseases. Additionally, presentations will explore how polyamines influence molecular mechanisms within immunology, microbiome dynamics, bacterial interactions, and overall health, particularly in aging populations. This year’s speakers have been carefully selected to highlight the latest discoveries, including paradigm-shifting findings related to the biological roles of polyamines and their implications for clinical development in disease treatment and prevention.
This GRC will be held in conjunction with the Gordon Research Seminar (GRS). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRS in addition to an application for the GRC. Refer to the associated GRS program page for more information.
The conference will consist of nine sessions, on the topics listed below. The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. The preliminary program will be available by October 16, 2024. Please check back for updates.
