Conference Description
The Predator-Prey Interactions GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
The study of predator-prey interactions is critical to understanding biological processes at multiple scales, from individual physiology and behavior to evolutionary and ecological dynamics. With the growth of large-scale, high-resolution data and advanced statistical tools, researchers in our field are newly equipped to explore long-standing theoretical questions and tackle applied problems in the management of predator-prey systems. New technologies allow us to collect and analyze vast amounts of information on previously unstudied phenomena like sensory processing, individual physiology, movement in complex landscapes, and trophic interactions in food webs. While this big data opens up new ways to better understand predator-prey interactions, it also makes it all the more important that we have robust theory to help focus research and make both generalizable and context-dependent predictions. The seventh Gordon Research Conference on Predator-Prey Interactions will bring together a diverse group of speakers from various disciplines to explore recent advances in both theory and methods. The Predator-Prey Interactions GRC has been a generator of new interdisciplinary collaborations in our field since its inception in 2014, and we look forward to seeing you in Italy in 2026.
The conference will consist of nine sessions, on the topics listed below. The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. The preliminary program will be available by April 30, 2025. Please check back for updates.
