From Fundamentals to Function

Protein science has experienced revolutionary changes in the last decade. Vast amounts of genomic information inform our analyses of protein biology, structure, and function. The elucidation of high-resolution molecular structures has become almost routine, while new technologies provide unprecedented insight into mechanistic details. Advances in experimental methodology have been mirrored by advances in computational approaches and together the two are providing unprecedented insight into dynamics and mechanism. The 2015 Proteins Gordon Research Conference will bring together experimental, theoretical and computational biochemists, biophysicists, chemists, chemical biologists, biologists and bioengineers who study the diverse aspects of protein science including protein function, dynamics, regulation, folding, and evolution. Recent exciting advances in protein science and the strong historical tradition of this meeting promise an outstanding conference experience for participants at all career stages. Invited speakers will highlight a wide range of approaches for addressing critical and emerging problems in protein research. Speaking slots have been reserved for young investigators and so that late-breaking results can be presented in short talks. Poster sessions will provide an opportunity for broad dissemination of participants’ research. The meeting is held in the relaxed, beautiful setting of the White Mountains of Vermont at Holderness, New Hampshire. Collegial formal sessions, lunch time round table discussion, informal discussions, poster sessions, social events and afternoon recreational activities will promote the free flow of ideas between sub-disciplines and generations.
