Visualizing Exocrine Biology in Health and Disease

The Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) is a prelude before the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Salivary Glands and Exocrine Biology. This seminar offers a relaxed environment allowing for networking and social interactions between trainees in the field of exocrine biology. The GRS’ informal setting encourages collaborations before the GRC by allowing junior scientists from academia opportunities to discuss unpublished research during talks and posters. Our sessions will discuss exocrine gland biology and development, tissue regeneration and bioengineering approaches. Moreover, we will discuss new insights into conditions that affect secretory functions in exocrine glands including but not limited to aging, head and neck radiation treatments and autoimmune diseases. Our speakers come from a diverse pool regarding ethnicity, gender and career stages which will allow career paths discussions in a mentoring panel. Each speaker’s talk will put emphasis on presenting unpublished research findings that push the field forward and focus on clinical applications. The overall goal of this meeting is to disseminate the latest research findings from multiple laboratories across the world, foster scientific exchanges and ignite research collaborations in the area of salivary glands and exocrine biology towards improving knowledge and human health.
