Conference Description

The Salmonella Biology and Pathogenesis GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.

The inaugural Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Salmonella Biology and Pathogenesis will be held in 2023. The GRS will bring together junior investigators including graduate students, post-docs, and other early career researchers in a relaxed and welcoming environment to present and discuss their research. The aim of the GRS is to promote collaboration, discussion, and networking amongst a cohort of junior investigators who share a common interest in the study of Salmonella. This seminar will focus on all aspects of Salmonella biology and host interactions, and should be of broad interest to any junior investigator focused on the study of this bacterium and the complex interactions it has with other bacteria and with the host. The GRS program will feature oral presentations and poster sessions, as well as a discussion panel in which leaders in the field will provide their advice and expertise on a range of topics. Participants of the GRS are strongly encouraged to also present posters at the following GRC. Two outstanding speakers will be chosen to also present an oral presentation during the following GRC.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Salmonella Biology and Pathogenesis" Gordon Research Conference (GRC).
