Conference Description

The Sensory Transduction in Microorganisms GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.

The 6th annual Gordon Research Seminar on Sensory Transduction in Microorganisms (GRS STIM) will be taking place in Ventura Beach, CA, on Jan 20th - 21st 2024, the weekend immediately prior to its associated Gordon Research Conference (GRC). We welcome early-stage researchers (primarily graduate students and post-docs) from research institutions from around the world to attend and present their new data and ideas. Additionally, the GRS provides a unique trainee-led opportunity to practice your presentation(s) and gain confidence prior to the GRC, to network with fellow trainees, and to learn from invited speakers who have experience in academic and non-academic careers. The 2024 STIM GRS scientific focus will be on topics from the latest research that aims to characterize the mechanisms involved in microbial cell signaling in response to environmental changes. As such, the GRS will embrace scientific diversity with a wide range of oral and poster presenters from molecular biology, biochemistry, chemical biology, microbiology, structural biology and related fields that implement their specialties to furthering the field.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Sensory Transduction in Microorganisms" Gordon Research Conference (GRC). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRC in addition to an application for the GRS. Refer to the associated GRC program page for more information.
