Conference Description
The Gordon Research Seminar on Water & Aqueous Solutions is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
The focus of this meeting is to elucidate the role of water in a wide range of aqueous phenomena, through discussions of the latest developments in experimental, theoretical and simulation studies at various length- and time-scales. Although water is a deceptively simple three-atom molecule, it possesses a unique set of distinguishing physical properties that continue to fascinate scientists, researchers, philosophers, and thinkers alike, setting it apart from any other substance on earth. This conference will bring together graduate students and postdocs who are tackling the challenge of understanding and predicting properties of water as a pure substance, and also as a component of more complex systems.
The program includes a keynote talk by Prof. Pablo G. Debenedetti, a world-renowned expert in the area, who shall provide an overview of the field of water-related research. Additionally, a panel discussion specifically organized for graduate students and post-docs on career and research development will be held.
