Application Deadline

Applications for this meeting must be submitted by June 17, 2018. Please apply early, as some meetings become oversubscribed (full) before this deadline. If the meeting is oversubscribed, it will be stated here. Note: Applications for oversubscribed meetings will only be considered by the Conference Chair if more seats become available due to cancellations.

Meeting Description

The 2018 Gordon Conference on Single-Molecule Approaches to Biology will provide an interdisciplinary forum for researchers who develop single-molecule methodologies and apply them to solve important problems in biology and beyond. Single-molecule approaches capture transient intermediates and heterogeneous behavior at the molecular level and in real time; these methods therefore have the power to elucidate nanoscale mechanisms in complex environments. Single-molecule imaging, spectroscopy, and manipulation have uncovered how molecular systems effect function in living cells. This conference will bring together biologists, physicists, chemists, and engineers, and will feature sessions on single-molecule topics as diverse as super-resolution imaging, nanophotonics, enzymology, energy transfer, chemistry, and mechanics.

Related Meeting

This GRC will be held in conjunction with the "Single Molecule Approaches to Biology" Gordon Research Seminar (GRS). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRS in addition to an application for the GRC. Refer to the associated GRS program page for more information.
